Responsibilities
• Providing personal care: bathing, washing, showering and preparing meals within a client’s own home.
• Prompt medication and support clients to access the community i.e shopping and social activities
• Provide social support within the home any given time of the day (live in care included)
• Take responsibility of the shift while on duty
• Liaise with other professional staff in carrying out care plans
Essential Information
Home Care workers should be able:
1. To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the Clients using a person-centred approach
2. To observe and promote the Client’s human rights and the principles outlined in the health and social care standards
3. To evidence that care is based on dignity and respect choice, compassion wellbeing and responsive to their changing needs
4. To create and maintain good professional relationships with Clients, their family and friends and the wider agencies
5. To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and Potters Health Care’s policies, procedures and guideline
Tasks
